LIMITED WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY

THE TIMBER GUYS records all warranties by Sales Order number. Unless otherwise stated, this Warranty applies only to the original purchaser and original installation address. All warranties are non-transferable.

This is a Limited Workmanship Warranty and covers only defects directly arising from THE TIMBER GUYS’ workmanship within the original contracted scope of works. This Warranty is not a product guarantee and does not cover normal wear and tear, natural material characteristics, environmental conditions, misuse, accidental damage or matters beyond THE TIMBER GUYS’ reasonable control.

THE TIMBER GUYS records all warranties by Sales Order number. Unless otherwise stated, this Warranty applies only to the original purchaser and original installation address. All warranties are non-transferable.

1. LIMITED WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY

1.1 This Warranty covers workmanship defects directly arising from the installation carried out by THE TIMBER GUYS.

1.2 Warranty obligations shall only commence after full payment of the Sales Order has been received.

1.3 Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, THE TIMBER GUYS shall, at its sole discretion, inspect, repair, adjust or replace only the localized affected component.

1.4 Repair or replacement shall not extend, renew or restart the original Warranty Period unless otherwise stated in writing by THE TIMBER GUYS.

1.5 Customers shall provide safe and reasonable access for inspection and rectification works.

1.6 This Warranty applies only to the original installation and shall automatically terminate if the installed works are relocated, removed or transferred to another location.

2. WARRANTY PERIOD

2.1 Unless otherwise stated in the Sales Order, workmanship is covered for Ten (10) Years from the date of practical completion.

2.2 Manufacturer warranties (where applicable) remain solely the responsibility of the respective manufacturer and are subject to their own warranty terms and conditions.

3. WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER

3.1 Works, products, materials or services not supplied or installed by THE TIMBER GUYS.

3.2 Items outside the original Sales Order, approved drawings or approved Variation Orders.

3.3 Discrepancies or variations between laminate samples, catalogues, digital renderings and the actual supplied materials. Customers are encouraged to verify their selected laminate directly with the laminate supplier prior to confirmation where required.

3.4 Natural variations in timber grain, veneer, laminate texture, marble, quartz, stone or other natural materials.

3.5 Minor colour, grain, texture or pattern differences between individual panels or batches.

3.6 Normal wear and tear arising from ordinary usage.

3.7 Damage, deterioration, discoloration, scratches or defects relating to mirrors and glass products arising after installation.

3.8 Third-party products, customer-supplied materials, and manufacturer defects relating to products not manufactured by THE TIMBER GUYS, including but not limited to appliances, sinks, taps, lighting, sanitary fittings, electrical accessories and hardware.

3.9 Minor alignment adjustments, hinge tuning, drawer runner adjustments, soft-close adjustments and routine maintenance arising from normal usage.

3.10 Colour fading, discolouration or ambering caused by direct sunlight, UV exposure, excessive heat or improper cleaning methods.

3.11 Hairline gaps, expansion, contraction or movement caused by changes in temperature, humidity or seasonal conditions.

3.12 Swelling, warping, bubbling, peeling, delamination or deterioration caused by water, moisture, steam, flooding, leakage, condensation, excessive humidity or poor ventilation.

3.13 Scratches, dents, chips, stains, burns, impact marks, surface abrasion or cosmetic damage arising from daily use, accidental impact, misuse or improper handling.

3.14 Damage caused by overloading cabinetry, shelving, drawers, hanging systems or hardware beyond their intended design capacity.

3.15 Structural movement, building settlement, ceiling movement, floor movement or substrate movement.

3.16 Damage caused by termites, insects, rodents, mould, mildew, corrosion, oxidation or other environmental conditions.

3.17 Damage caused by fire, flood, lightning, natural disasters or events beyond THE TIMBER GUYS’ reasonable control.

3.18 Damage caused by drilling, cutting, dismantling, relocation, modification or repair carried out by any party other than THE TIMBER GUYS.

3.19 Damage caused during moving, renovation, hacking, painting or works carried out by third-party contractors.

3.20 Routine maintenance, servicing, lubrication, tightening, hinge adjustments, drawer runner adjustments and other periodic adjustments arising from normal usage are considered normal maintenance and are not covered under this Warranty.

3.21 Damage arising from improper cleaning methods or the use of abrasive, acidic, alkaline or chemical cleaning agents.

3.22 Damage caused by prolonged exposure to excessive heat, open flames, hot cookware or hot appliances.

3.23 Damage caused by pets, animals or insects.

3.24 Any issue arising from customer-supplied materials, products, drawings, specifications or design instructions.

3.25 Any issue previously disclosed, accepted or approved by the Customer before installation.

3.26 Cosmetic imperfections, slight imperfections or aesthetic variations that do not affect the structural integrity or intended functionality of the installed works.

3.27 Any claim arising solely from personal preference, change of mind or subjective dissatisfaction after installation where the works have been completed in accordance with the approved Sales Order, drawings or agreed specifications.

3.28 Minor dimensional tolerances, alignment tolerances, joint lines, shadow gaps, silicone finishes, sealant application, laminate joints, edging lines and other reasonable workmanship variations that fall within normal industry practice shall not be considered defects.

3.29 Natural ageing, oxidation, weathering, fading or changes in appearance occurring over time due to normal use or environmental exposure.

3.30 Exact matching of colour, grain, texture, finish or material cannot be guaranteed where products have been discontinued, aged or manufactured in different production batches.

4. WARRANTY CLAIM PROCEDURE

4.1 Customers shall notify THE TIMBER GUYS within fourteen (14) days of discovering any suspected workmanship defect.

4.2 THE TIMBER GUYS reserves the sole right to inspect all reported defects before determining warranty eligibility.

4.3 Customers shall not appoint third-party contractors to inspect, dismantle, repair or modify the installed works without prior written consent from THE TIMBER GUYS.

4.4 Failure to provide reasonable access for inspection or rectification works may void this Warranty.

4.5 Failure to report defects within a reasonable time after discovery, where such delay results in further deterioration or additional damage, may void or limit this Warranty.

4.6 THE TIMBER GUYS reserves the right to request photographs, videos or any other information reasonably required before arranging an inspection.

5. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

5.1 The Customer shall exercise reasonable care and maintain the installed works in accordance with normal household use and good maintenance practices.

5.2 The Customer shall take reasonable steps to prevent prolonged exposure to water, excessive moisture, steam, direct sunlight and other adverse environmental conditions.

5.3 The Customer shall not overload cabinetry, shelving, drawers, hanging systems or hardware beyond their intended design capacity.

5.4 The Customer shall promptly report any suspected workmanship defect and discontinue use of the affected area where continued use may result in further damage.

5.5 The Customer shall not carry out, or permit any third party to carry out, any repair, dismantling, modification or alteration to the installed works before THE TIMBER GUYS has completed its inspection.

6. RECTIFICATION PROCESS

6.1 Upon acceptance of a valid Warranty claim, THE TIMBER GUYS shall determine, at its sole discretion, the appropriate method of rectification.

6.2 Rectification may include inspection, adjustment, repair, replacement or any other remedial work deemed appropriate by THE TIMBER GUYS.

6.3 THE TIMBER GUYS may determine that no rectification is necessary where the reported issue does not materially impair the intended structural integrity or functionality of the installed works.

6.4 Where replacement materials are no longer available or have been discontinued, THE TIMBER GUYS reserves the right to use the closest reasonably available material, finish or colour.

6.5 Any repaired or replacement component may reasonably differ in colour, grain, texture, finish or appearance due to manufacturing differences, batch variations, ageing or natural material characteristics.

6.6 Warranty rectification shall be limited to the affected localized component only and shall not extend to replacement of complete cabinets, wardrobes, kitchens, feature walls or any unaffected areas.

6.7 Any Warranty repair, adjustment or replacement shall not extend, renew or restart the original Warranty Period unless otherwise agreed in writing by THE TIMBER GUYS.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

7.1 THE TIMBER GUYS shall have the sole and absolute discretion to determine:

  • whether any reported issue falls within this Warranty;
  • the cause of the reported issue;
  • the appropriate rectification method; and
  • whether repair, adjustment or replacement is necessary.

7.2 Nothing in this Warranty shall require THE TIMBER GUYS to replace an entire installation where a localized repair is reasonably capable of resolving the reported issue.

7.3 Repair, adjustment or replacement of the localized affected component shall be the sole and exclusive remedy available under this Warranty.

7.4 The existence of a Warranty claim shall not entitle the Customer to withhold, delay, deduct or set off any payment due under the Sales Order or any related agreement.

7.5 THE TIMBER GUYS shall be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and rectify any valid Warranty claim before the Customer engages any third party to carry out repair or replacement works.

7.6 Where a Warranty claim is accepted, THE TIMBER GUYS shall bear only the reasonable direct cost of rectifying the workmanship within the original contracted scope.

7.7 Any additional dismantling, reinstatement, hacking, painting, tiling, plumbing, electrical works, transportation, lifting equipment, scaffolding, access equipment, permits or third-party costs required due to site conditions or works outside THE TIMBER GUYS’ original contracted scope shall be borne by the Customer.

7.8 Where access to the affected component requires dismantling, hacking, removal or reinstatement of works outside THE TIMBER GUYS’ original contracted scope, such works shall be arranged and borne by the Customer.

7.9 Under no circumstances shall THE TIMBER GUYS be liable for:

  • refunds;
  • compensation;
  • price reductions;
  • replacement of entire installations;
  • accommodation expenses;
  • moving or storage costs;
  • business interruption;
  • loss of rental;
  • loss of profits;
  • loss of income;
  • loss of use;
  • emotional distress, inconvenience or disappointment;
  • indirect losses;
  • incidental losses;
  • consequential losses; or
  • any claims arising from third-party contractors.

8. GENERAL TERMS

8.1 Any inspection, attendance, recommendation, adjustment or goodwill rectification carried out by THE TIMBER GUYS shall not constitute an admission of liability or confirmation that the reported issue is covered under this Warranty.

8.2 Any goodwill rectification carried out by THE TIMBER GUYS shall not create any continuing obligation, establish precedent or extend the original Warranty Period.

8.3 THE TIMBER GUYS reserves the right to determine the repair method, repair materials, repair sequence and repair methodology used during any Warranty rectification.

8.4 Warranty services shall be carried out within a reasonable timeframe, subject to material availability, manpower availability and site accessibility.

8.5 THE TIMBER GUYS shall not be responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to supplier delays, discontinued materials, transportation disruptions, public holidays, weather conditions or other unforeseen events.

8.6 If replacement materials have been discontinued or are no longer available, THE TIMBER GUYS reserves the right to substitute them with materials of reasonably similar colour, design, specification or quality.

8.7 This Warranty applies only to the original installation and original installation address and is not transferable.

8.8 This Warranty forms part of every Sales Order, Quotation and Invoice issued by THE TIMBER GUYS.

8.9 If any provision of this Warranty is held to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

8.10 This Warranty shall be interpreted together with the Customer’s Sales Order, Terms & Conditions and any written agreements issued by THE TIMBER GUYS.

8.11 This Warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
